Does Newborn Twin Photography in Perth Cost Double?
Short answer: absolutely not.
Longer answer: photographing newborn twins can be a little more chaotic, a little less predictable, and about twice as likely to involve funny little squeaks from opposite sides of the room. But no, I do not charge double for twins.
Twins are booked as a normal newborn photography session at my usual newborn session price. Same session type, same relaxed approach, just with two tiny people running the show instead of one.

That is all completely normal.
A twin newborn session is relaxed, gentle and baby-led. We work around:
feeding
settling
burping
cuddles
nappy changes
little breaks
whatever else the babies decide we are doing that day
There is no pressure for both babies to be asleep at the same time. There is no expectation that they arrive perfectly settled, freshly fed and ready to perform like tiny professionals.
They are newborns. Their main job is to be fed, cuddled and kept comfortable. My job is to work around that.
What we photograph during a twin newborn session
During a twin newborn photoshoot, I aim to capture the babies both together and apart.
We will usually photograph:
the twins together
each baby individually
both babies with parents
each baby with parents if it feels right
siblings, if there are older brothers or sisters
The individual photos matter because twins are not “the twins” in every photo. They are two separate little people, even if they arrived as a pair.
One might have a swirl of hair that sticks up no matter what. One might have a slightly grumpy thinking face. One might be all curled up while the other stretches out like they own the place.
Those tiny differences are worth remembering.

Let’s be honest. Two newborns can mean double trouble.

I promise, I am not shocked by chaos. I have photographed enough newborns to know that babies often have their own agenda, and twins sometimes like to take turns with theirs.
You do not need to apologise if one baby needs extra feeding. You do not need to stress if one settles and the other wakes. You do not need to feel embarrassed if your toddler decides they would rather inspect the studio than cuddle the babies.
That is normal family life with newborns. We go with it.
The session moves at your babies’ pace

Sometimes we start with one baby while the other feeds. Sometimes we settle them together. Sometimes we swap back and forth. Sometimes everyone has a cuddle and we reset.

If both babies sleep at the same time, lovely. If they do not, also lovely. Awake newborn photos can be beautiful too, especially when they are doing those funny serious little stares, as if they have just remembered they left something important in the womb.

Come as you are. Bring the babies, the feeding gear, the spare nappies, and whatever level of sleep deprivation you are currently operating on. I will take care of the photo side.
The aim is simple: beautiful, relaxed photos of your twins together, on their own, and with the people who love them most.
