Woohoo, your newborn session is booked!
...Now what?
I’m so excited to work with you and your family! Capturing your unique connection and creating memories that will last a lifetime is truly what I love most. I can’t wait to meet your teeny-tiny new love! Let’s make this an experience you’ll always treasure!

What do I wear?
I have a full client wardrobe included in all bookings for mums and babies. For the little ones I have lots of outfits, headbands, sockies, wraps etc. For mums I have plenty of comfortable, postpartum friendly dresses in lots of different sizes, shapes and styles. So take some stress off and let me take care of the styling!
If you'd like to wear your own, try follow these guidelines:
-
Keep it simple, timeless, and fun!
-
Think soft pastels or neutrals - no bold colors, logos, or graphics.
-
Mix textures and subtle patterns for variety, but skip the matchy-matchy look (bye, jeans and white tees!).
-
Flowy dresses, relaxed pants/shorts, and comfy layers will keep everyone looking great and feeling eased. Let your family’s connection shine!
Some Tips & Tricks
A little prep goes a long way, but don’t stress, I’ve got you! Newborns are unpredictable at the best of times, so these are just some small guideline *if* bub cooperates!
-
If you can, try to keep your baby awake for 30–60 minutes before the session.
-
Happy tummies make happy photos! Try time a feed just before your session, or when you arrive. There's always time to slow down an have extra feeds during the session too.
-
Crying is completely normal. We go at your baby’s pace and take breaks whenever needed. There is no rush, and no expectation for your baby to be “perfect”.
-
Some babies sleep the whole time, some need extra cuddles, feeds, or rocking. Both result in beautiful images. I’ll guide you through everything, including how to hold and position baby comfortably.
-
If siblings are involved, we usually start with family photos first while they’re fresh. Snacks, a comfort toy, or a small reward afterward can help too.
-
You’ve just had a baby. You don’t need to be “put together” or well-rested. These photos are about connection, closeness, and real moments, not perfection.
Remember: This is all about celebrating your family and the stage you’re in right now—giggles, wiggles, and all! Relax, have fun, and let me do the rest.

And Remember...
I’ve seen it all and I’ve been through it all too. The leaky boobs, the sore bodies, the tiredness, the emotions, the tears. All of it is completely normal and all of it is welcome here. This is a safe, judgment free space. If you’re running a few minutes late, if your baby needs extra cuddles, or if you’re feeling sore or overwhelmed, please don’t stress. We slow right down, take our time, and make this a calm, comfortable, enjoyable experience for you and your new little family.
