Whenever families book a Perth photography session with me, one of the first questions is always: where should we go?

Now, if you know me, you’ll know the beach will forever be my happy place for sessions. Scarborough, Trigg, City Beach - those golden sunsets and salty breezes just never get old. I’ll happily shoot at the beach every single day and still love it.

But… Sometimes the best photos don’t happen in the “pretty” spots. Sometimes they happen in the places that already mean something to you. When you’re somewhere familiar like your backyard, your favourite café, even a skate park - you just relax. You stop worrying about the camera, your kids act like themselves, and we capture the kind of moments that actually feel like you.

And that’s when the magic happens.

A Few Fun Sessions Lately

🍦 One family wanted photos at their go-to ice cream shop, relaxed vibes and a bit retro - (Yes, there was chocolate all over little faces and it was perfect!).

🏡 Another family had me over to their gorgeous character home. The kids were barefoot, the sunlight was pouring in, it was perfect.

Choosing Your Spot

So if you’re thinking about booking a session, ask yourself:

  • Where does your family feel the most “at home”?

  • What places are part of your routine or your weekend rituals?

  • Do your kids light up more running along Floreat Beach or having pancakes at your local café?

  • Would photos at home capture this season of life best?

There’s no right or wrong. Just what feels true for you.

What Lifestyle Photography's All About

For me, lifestyle photography in Perth isn’t about perfect poses or matching outfits (though hey, if that’s your jam, go for it). It’s about real connection. Laughs, chaos, cuddles, whatever your life looks like right now.

And whether that’s at the beach, in your backyard, or eating ice cream in the city, those are the photos you’ll treasure - because they’re real!

👉 If you’re ready to lock in your Perth family photography session, let’s chat locations. From sandy toes at Scarborough to messy ice cream dates in Leederville, I’d love to capture your story in a way that actually feels like you.
