One of the best parts of being a photographer in Perth? We’re totally spoiled for choice when it comes to photoshoot locations. From wild coastal backdrops to golden bushland, and even the comfort of your own home — there’s something here for every vibe.

If you’re planning a session and not sure where to go, here are a few of my go-to spots (and why I love them).

1. The Beach – Always and Forever My Favourite

There’s something about beach sessions that just hits different. The light, the space, the salty breeze... It’s effortless and beautiful without trying too hard. Whether it’s a chilled family shoot, a dreamy couple session, or just you doing your thing with the ocean as your backdrop, I’m here for it. Being NOR based my favourites are Trigg Beach, City Beach, and Floreat.

Golden hour by the water? Yes please. You’ll probably end up barefoot and a little sandy, but honestly… that’s the good stuff.

2. Guildford Meadows – Soft, Dreamy and Underrated

Guildford Meadows is one of those spots that quietly delivers magic. Tall, golden grass, wide open fields, and soft, golden light. It has that dreamy, almost nostalgic vibe that works so beautifully for families, couples, or solo portraits. It feels a bit like stepping into a storybook (with fewer people around, which is always a win). If you’re after something natural, warm, and a little bit whimsical, this place is a hidden gem.

3. Bells Rapids – For That Golden, Earthy Feel

If you’re after a nature-filled session with a bit of edge, Bells Rapids is a fave of mine. It’s got that rugged beauty — think rocks, flowing water (when it’s running), and a whole lot of texture. It’s especially stunning in the late afternoon when the sun hits just right.

Perfect for couples, families, or anyone wanting something a bit different from the typical green park shots.

4. At Your Place – Real Life, Real Vibes

Don’t underestimate how amazing a session at your own home can be. It’s relaxed, personal, and honestly, some of the most authentic photos I’ve taken happen in the places people feel most comfortable. Think snuggles on the couch, kids being wild in their room, or coffee in the kitchen. It’s your story, your space.

Bonus: no travel or packing snacks.

5. My Soon-To-Be Studio – Watch This Space

I’m currently in the middle of creating a cosy little studio space, and I’m so excited to offer it as a shoot location soon. It’ll be perfect for branding, intimate portraits, or just when the weather isn’t playing nice. Think clean, natural light, soft tones, and a relaxed vibe.
